Execution options allow you to customize Little Tagger to fit perfectly in your workflow. Execution options are part of profiles and the selected option is cached and restored if the popover was closed.

Manual Execution

By default, tagging must be executed manually. That means after you dropped your files and folders, assigned tags and applied settings, you need to press the Execute button in the bottom right to see your tags added or removed. This option always requires a user action before tags are added or removed.

Immediate Execution

At first, selecting to execute Immediately seems to be no different than manual execution. That means, if you drop your files and then select Immediately, it will not execute, unless you press the Execute button. However, you will notice the difference if you first made the settings in the popover, for example by selecting a profile, and then dropping files and folders. In that, case Immediately will execute with no delay or manual interaction required. That is in particular useful, if you have repetitive tagging jobs, where you drop one folder after another using the same settings.

Pro tip! If your workflow is better suited to make all settings upfront and then drop files and folders, we recommend to uncheck Show Popover in Preferences, because it will prevent the popover from automatically showing again after files are dropped.

Execute with Delay

You also have the option to execute tagging with a delay after dropping your files and folders. Currently, there are three intervals to choose from: 3 seconds, 10 seconds and 30 seconds. If one of these options is selected, a countdown is displayed indicating how many seconds are left until tagging is executed. With delay can be executed either automatically after dropping files and folders or manually by pressing the Execute button. You usually pick this option, when you want to keep the option to make last minute changes to your settings before executing.

Stop Execution

If you executed with a delay or if you have a long running tagging job, you can cancel it by pressing the Stop button. The Stop button is only available after execution has started.
